The purpose of the Moorpark Foundation for the Arts is to provide support for and promote the arts, specifically the High Street Arts Center in the City of Moorpark. The Foundation’s goal is to raise funding through private donations, private and public grants and other resources to support the arts in Moorpark. Ultimately, it will be the mission of the Foundation to provide substantial financial support to the Arts Center so that it may eventually become independent of the city subsidy and organizational control. The Foundation will also make financial assistance available to groups and individuals enabling access and participation in the visual and performing arts in Moorpark. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and owns a London-based production company. Mr Cooper has been honored by numerous foreign and domestic film organizations including the Moscow, Venice, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Berlin, Amsterdam and Atlanta film Festivals. Michael Hollander, Secretary michael.hollander@moorparkarts.org Mr. Hollander holds degrees in Journalism from the University of Missouri and is actively involved as a production consultant in the television industry. He is currently a writer/producer with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. He has worked as a Bureau Manager for CNBC and as an Assignment Editor and Producer for NBC News. Dr. Clint Harper, Vice President docharper@moorparkarts.org Dr. Harper is a professor of Physics and Astronomy at Moorpark Community College. Dr Harper has served four, 4-year terms on the Moorpark City Council and Redevelopment Agency Board and 2 terms on the Moorpark Unified School District Board of Education. He has extensive experience obtaining and managing funds for a wide range of educational programs and has been a strong supporter of the performing arts. Lou Valdez, Treasurer Lvaldez@moorparkarts.org Mr. Valdez holds a degree Finance /Economics from the California State University- Northridge and is presently employed with UBS Financial Services, Inc. He has extensive experience with fund raising for non-profit organizations including Big Brother/ Big Sisters of Ventura County. Hugh Riley, Chief Financial Officer (Ex-Officio) hriley@moorparkarts.org Hugh Riley is the Foundation’s Chief Financial Officer and an Ex-Officio member of the Board of Directors. He is the Assistant City Manager of the City of Moorpark and is responsible for the operation of the High Street Arts Center. With over 36 years of service to municipal government, Hugh provides the City of Moorpark with a variety of experience and skills. He oversees the City’s Finance Department among other duties and manages several major public facility improvement projects valued at more that $30 million. Theater has been part of Hugh’s life since childhood and he has taught and practiced all facets of the art including acting, directing, set design and construction, lighting and marketing.
